Had Unprotected Sex. Brown Spotting, Cramps. Taken Birth Control. What Could This Be?
Hi so on July 8 was the last day I took birth control. On July 10 I had my period for 3-4 days. My husband and I have had unprotected sex frequently. On the 30th I had a brownish spotting (only lasted the day)but not a lot. I only noticed when I was going to the bathroom. I don't really have any cramps and not sure what this could be. Thanks!
This might be implantation bleeding or OCP withdrawal bleeding:
Implantation bleeding – a very early sign of pregnancy – occurs when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. During implantation, the fertilized egg (called a blastocyst at this stage of development) burrows and embeds itself underneath the wall of the womb (uterus). Because the uterine lining is rich with blood, some women can experience spotting and even cramping during this process.
For the most part, implantation bleeding is lighter and occurs earlier than your regular menstrual period. Sometimes, however, implantation bleeding may be heavier, so it can be easily confused with a regular period.
Frequent spotting or bleeding are very well known side effects of OCP withdrawal. So keep watch for period to come or missed period.

Dr. Naresh Jain.
