Had Ultrasound, Been Told There Is Irregularity In The Heartbeat Of Baby. Dangerous?

Went to the doctor for my first ultrasound last week and my baby was measuring at 6weeks and 2 days but the doctor said it should be 6 weeks and 6 days but the baby had 109BPM so we had to come back yesterday (exactly a week after the first appointment) and the baby was measuring at 7 weeks and 1 day but now the doctor said there is irregularity in the heartbeat of the baby. Is this dangerous? Anything I could do to change this?

Hello,
The rate of the heart is not of much significance at this early stage of pregnancy but the rhythm is definitely is. Irregularity at this stage is difficult to diagnose and needs a second higher resolution view. Since organogenesis is in the process, it is difficult to predict the exact cause and management. You would need a specialist in prenatal care to assess the situation further and guide you properly. Please see a pediatrician who specializes in high risk pregnancy care. Hope this helps.
