Had Thoracic Surgery, Fluctuating BP And Heart Rate. Is This Normal ?

Had thoracic surgery 5 weeks ago...when I wake up my blood pressure is 127/78 around that. My heart rate is 75 bpm. Howevery I went grociery shopping, and out to dinner, when I got home my heart rate was 109 and blood pressure was 138/89. After settling down and resting, things went back to normal. Is this normal for me to have such fluxuation in blood pressure and heart rate?
