This summer I was music festival and had my first seizure. I had been feeling weak and fatigued all weekend and abstained from drinking and drugs, and instead continued to drink a lot of water. Then one night I tried eating a little bit on Molly which my friends had been eating all weekend and tested it with a . My friends said I had a dazed look in my face and then my whole body stiffened up and I collapsed on the ground. I convulsed, apparently keeping my eyes open. When I finally came to I was confused and wasn't aware what had happened. I was very nauseous and threw up. Later I realized I had bitten my tongue extremely hard and had peed myself.
When I got home, I went to a neurologist. I did not inform him that I had taken some Molly because I did not think that was the cause and thought that he would have immediately overlooked the incident, if aware of that. He scheduled an MRI and EEG. The MRI results were unconclusive but the EEG results were abnormal. My brain waves from both sides of my temporal region showed spikes instead of waves. I am now taking medication daily for epilepsy.
Amid all of these Molly stores in the media, my mother believes that since I did not tell the doctor about eating a little bit of Molly, she says my diagnosis and test results invalid.
If the EEG showed clear abnormalities in my brain waves, wouldn't that be a confirmation that I am epileptic and the Molly probably didn't help my condition but was not the sole trigger of my seizure?
