Had Problem With Low Milk Supply. Used Fenugreek Seeds And Galact Powder. Took Domeridon. Concerned?

My baby is 5 months old. I had problem with low milk supply. For increasing milk supply I used fenugreek seeds, galact powder through milk. Also I use to take 6 tablets on domeridon per day. These days I have reduced domperidon to 2 tablets but it has hit my milk supply. I am not able to produce enough milk for my baby. can you give any suggestion to me . What should I do now.

I a happy to hear from a mother who goes extra length to ensure that the baby gets the best food possible.....Breast milk. To that, I say a big CONGRATULATIONS to you. The advantages of breast milk are worth the efforts!

However, this baby is already getting big. breast milk alone at this stage cannot fully ensure appropriate calories intake and nutrients especially when you have difficulties with milk production. I will suggest that it is about time you consider giving other food to your baby to supplement breast feeding.

Also, to increase breast milk without necessarily taking drugs, increase your fluid intake to at least 2.5liters per day. This will make it some what better. Supplementing the bay's food now is the right thing to do while optiising your feeding to get the best. The side effects of domeridon are real and i will not suggest that you continue indefinitely on this drug. Consider stopping it.
