Had Period, Very Late, Bright Red, Stinging Sensation Like A Cut. Trying To Have Baby. Am I Okay?

Hopefully you can help me. This month I was late on my period bt 12 days, I thought I was pregnant, which i want to be . But then i got my period i am never late actually i always have it earlier. Now my period is on the 8th day and its a bright red, and regular. I have stings which i feel inside like lime on an open cut. I am worried. Do you what could be going on?

Stinging or burning sensation is occurred due to irritation to the tissues.If it is not associated with intercourse then the cause might be infection as there are so many infections which cause the same symptom and not all are sexually transmitted diseases.I advice you to consult your gynecologist for proper treatment and investigations.If there is infection and left untreated then it will become a bad factor to you to conceive.Thank you.
