Had Panic Reaction At First Dose Of Concerta. Less Focused And Chest Pressure After Second Dose. Why?

Hello I have a couple questions about Concerta 36mg, I had a small panic reaction at first dose then feel clear focused calm and all my irritability was gone, but the 2nd dose I was less focused and had chest pressure. I did nit take it again today and it seems that I have mild chest feelings today, can anxiety cause this?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to Healthcare Magic!
You seem to have a naive person to Concerta-Methylphenidate, this drug should be started at smaller dose and ten slowly the dose is built up weekly.
You should not have any cardiac illness, brain disorder or anxiety disorder or ON treatment with Clonidine or MAO-Is where it is contraindicated.
You should start the Cocerta at 10mg/day in divided doses and then increase 10mg twice a day and then on third week you can take 36mg extended release tablet.
You would be able to tolerate it then.
I am hopeful the advise would be helpful for you.
If you have any further query please let me know I would try to answer it for you.
Wish you a great health!
