Had Nose, Ears And Throat Issues, Wheezing, Lungs Are Sensitive. Family History Of Bronchitis. Do I Need To Worry?

Hi Doctor,

My name is Tonny and I am 32 years old with an almost clean medical record.
As young child I suffered a lot with nose, ears and throat.

I am really worried. I seem to struggle to yawn and suffer from wheezing for about 4-6 weeks. I do not cough much, but I force to cough to try and get rid of wheezing and burning sensation in lungs. The cough is dry at the moment. Om my way to work in the morning bits of slime are coughed up, but not extraordinary much. It feels like something is in my "right" lung in times. As production manager I do talk often. I recently started to notice that my lungs are extra sensitive after a meeting or chat.

I do scrape lots of slime out of my throat, coming from my sinus I believe. Sometimes this slime gives me the feeling I like to give over. I sometimes think that at night this slime is infecting and affecting my lungs. I do sleep very well and have no problems when I lay on my side at all. Left or right side.
Right now my throat feels like there is something stuck in it and my heart seems to beat out of sequence in times (not often at all). This is been going on for a much longer time. My tonsils are infected 4/5 times a year for long periods.

My mother suffered from bronchitis / asthma and used to use a inhaler tool.

I do occasionally smoke, but these feelings and sensations are never experienced before.
My mind is telling me that I have lung cancer now with all wheezing and tight feeling stopping me from excessive yawning and stress myself out.
Please share me your thoughts.

Kind regards,

Tonny

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi Tony,

From the description it appears that you are suffering from allergy in the form of asthma. You also have a family history(Your mother) of asthma. Your allergy/asthma is responsible for most of your chest symptoms ie cough, chest tu=ightness, slimy secretions, wheezing and breathing difficulty.

You should undergo a cpomplete medical checkup to establish the diagnosis so that proper treatment can be started. Pl consult a pulmonologist so can advice you accordingly.
