Had Miscarriage. Cardiac Activity Of Fetus Absent. Why?

Hi..I am 30 yrs old. I had conceived normally, but had a missed abortion one week back during the 10th week of pregnancy. The ulrtasonography report stated the fetus to be only 6.1 weeks old. I am a working lady. The cardiac activity of the fetus was found absent. But the doctors have not given any reason for this happening. Can anyone plz help me in this regard and also the required precautions to be taken in future.

HELLO ARUNDHATI,
I can pretty well understand your feelings. But the vast majority of the first trimester abortions are caused by chromosomal abnormalities of the fetus, and its the nature's process of elimination. But if you get two or more losses, then you need to be investigated with few hormonal tests and a uterine cavity evaluation. As of know, you please do a Blood grouping Rh typing, a sugar profile , a TSH and a antiphospholipid antibody.
DONT WORRY, you can start with a folic acid-pyridoxine-methylcobalamine preparation 1 month before you plan your next pregnancy. That may help in few cases if these deficiencies are the culprits.
good luck bye.
