Had Medical Abortion, Bleeding Started Late. Having Yellowish Discharge, Irritation In Vagina, Abdominal Pain After Unprotected Sex
Hi I'm 27 years old I had a medical abortion 3 weeks ago. I bled for under a week and also after the 4pills inserted vaginally it took longer than expected to start bleeding. Around 8 hours. I had sex after 1 week unprotected. Since then I have had much more discharge than normal which has now turned yellowish... With odour not too foul though. I also have slight irritation around my vagina not so much itching but not feeling normal. I have slight abdominal pain (not worthy of a painkiller though) is this normal? I have yet to have my period.
Hi, Welcome to HCM, it is usually advisable to not to have intercourse even the protected one, while you in process of Abortion and for another month until you get your next normal period. One thing it greatly increases your chances of getting STI and Non STI . Another reason is that we will not no clearly if in case you do not see your period, that is it continuation of your last pregnancy or you have conceived again. Your symptoms clearly suggest that you have got vaginal infection, and you should go immediately to see your Doctor along with your partner. he also needs to get medication even if he has no symptoms. Take good care. Dr H Hamdani
