Had Medical Abortion. USG Showing Thickened Endometrium. Suction Cleaning Advised. Is This Normal?
HI..
My wife tested positive for pregnancy in her fifth week (from last period). Due to two earlie ceasarians (2 years and 7 months back) we decided for abortion. The doctor gave mifepristone & misoprostal 2 weeks back after which heavy bleeding occurred with intense period. At that Doctor gave painkillers. Yesterday, we went back again to doctor who requested for USG scan. The scan has showed thickening of the endometrial (11mm). Doctor has asked my wife to get admitted for cleaning through suction.
My question is does my wife need to go through cleaning now since I understand from others that thickening of endometrial post delivery/abortion is normal and should be ok itself. My wife is steel bleeding although greatly reduced.

Thanks for your query.
Also in my opinion you should go for dilatation and curettage (D&C), after this your wife bleeding decrease in quantity and it is good for your future pregnancy also. Her period becomes regular after this procedure.Yes thickening of endometrium after delivery or abortion is normal,so you can wait for sometime.
