Had Kidney Transplant. Taking Medicare. Fear Kidney Failure?
I recently was forced, by not sure who, but I suspect Medicare to now be on the generic progaf and cellcept. I have been on the name brand of those two meds for 12 years after my kidney transplant in 2001. My kidney function has been perfect, but the last three months on the generic meds I have shown worse numbers in my blood work regarding my kidney function. I have fought so very hard to be able to stay on the name brand, but to no avail. I am really scared to be on the generic fearing kidney failure. My local pharmacy gets the two generic meds I take from Accord, please tell me your generic is very very safe, please help put my mind and body at ease. Thank you for your very very kind attention to this matter.

Sometimes the generic preparations of prograf can have different absorption rates. So I would advice you to check your tacrolimus level. If it is in the prescribed range then there is nothing to worry about.
In that case see your nephrologist for evaluation of your graft dysfunction.
