Had Itching In Breast. Done Mammogram. Prescribed Medicines. How To Avoid This?
For a year & a half I've had an itchy left breast...to 3 MDs & they found nothing to be alarmed about. Mammogram all ok. In August, I saw my primary again as itching continued....he prescribed: Clotrimazole & Betamethasone Dipropioinate cream. After 10 days the itching stopped. However, it reves up again from time to time & I use the cream again. Occasionally the right breast also itches. Wonder a solution.
Some persons can have nipple dermatitis. When this happens there is itching of the nipple and surrounding areas of the breast.
It can be related to eczema, occur as a result of contact with an irritating agent, or as a result of a yeast infection.
In more rarer cases, it can be related to cancer of the breast, this is called pagets disease. This would be assessed by the mammogram which in your case was normal.
It is possible that it is due to contact with an irritating agent like a soap, cream, lotion or detergent. You can consider switching to milder products and see if this helps.
I hope this helps
