Had Cold And Flu. Have Phlegm, Coughing, Heavy Chest, Rash Developed Behind Knee. Could This Be From Flu?

Hi.

My girl friend and I came back from korea. We had the cold and flu whilst we were there. Now that We are back home. The flu is subsiding. Only a heavy chest , phlem and coughing and no more runny nose. My girlfriend had developed a rash behind her left knee. Could this be from the flu? It's the weekend and we don't have any doctors until Monday.

Thanks

paul

Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

The rash might be an independent issue not related to your flu, but if if I were your doctor, I would have advised you for a platelet count and a clotting profile to rule out any piticheal hemorrhages. If this is normal, it could be insect/mosquito bites which gave rise to such rashes.

However, if it increases and causes much inconvenience, I would suggest you to see a Dermatologist once your flu subsides.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic for clearing doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
