Had Bowel Cancer And Was On H Blockers. Is Risedronate The Right Drug For Osteoporosis?

Hello I am wondering about the drug for osteoporosis the name is risedronate, I am concerned because I had bowel cancer 4 years , and then I was on H Blockers afew years back, I dont know if I should take them as I am trying to do more exercise and I eat good, I would be grateful If I could hear from you , Thanks Teresa

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Risedronate (a Bisphosphonate group of drug) has got no specific contraindications for use in Bowel cancer patients. But this drug has to be taken with few precautions in cases of Esophageal or Gastric erosions as it has got a tendency to worsen the conditions leading to bleeding inside.
