Had a surgery for tumor in suprarenal gland. Why do I have irregular period?

Hi this is debasmita chakraborty from india 1 year before (august 2011) i had a surgery for a tumor in suprarenal gland which weighed 3 kg and was there without any symptoms...I am now in USA ....from march 2012 I am having irregular menstruation (delayed period) after i took ipill ....there is also a severe burst of acne ...

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Surgery is stress for the body physically, it can result in temporary irregularities in the menstrual cycle but not permanent. The more likely cause as I see it is either age or the pill that you have taken. The pill has a side effect of causing irregularity in the menstrual cycle for quite some time.

Please speak to your doctor about the same, as this irregularity has resulted in a hormonal imbalance which is also causing acne.
