Had A Surgery For Broken Collar Bone. Is It Advisable To Commence Work Carrying A Laptop Bag On The Other Shoulder?

Dear Doctor, I did a surgery on my broken collar bone on the 11/06/2012 After one week i went back for a review. Doctor say i can start to lift my arms and exercise but not weight lighting. I am now entering my 2nd week of rest. Can start to do Door to Door Sales carrying a small laptop bag. On my right shoulder . The injury is on my left shoulder.

Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. You have not mentioned about the type of surgery that you underwent for your collar bone. Anyway, carrying a laptop bag on your uninjured shoulder will not have any impact on your operated side. Just follow the advise given by your doctor as he knows what was done to you. Hope this helps
