Had A Direct Hit To Chest. Sharp Pain On Sternum While Laughing, Cough, Sneeze. How To Get Rid?
I was pushed and completely lost my balance and I hit the back of a sofa which hit me directly on the chest . Pain has been going on for he past 3 days. I cant make sudden movements and I get a sharp pain right on my sternum whenever I laugh.. Cough .. Sneeze , and take deep breaths.... What Can I do to get rid of this as soon as possible?

As per your history you hurt your chest following which you are experiencing pain on deep inspiration, coughing and sneezing, these are the alarming signs which you can not ignore. So i would suggest you to seek medical help as early as possible.
you may require a chest -x ray to look for any fractures in the ribs/ sternum, along with that - is there any pneumothorax ( air leak from the lungs ) which could be sometimes fatal if ignored.

as per the details u have submitted,
direct hiiting of ur chest to hard surface leads to mild contusion and soreness.. but becoz its a rib cage , due to the movements of the lungs inside the rib cage you will experience pain ..so advise you take rest and avoiding physical activities that icreases your respiration and lifting weights.
And u use pain killers like zerodol-sp once daily ...nothing to worry much about it...
if u have any further pain ..date a digital X-ray of chest
