Had Medtronics Interstim Implant Done. Have Red Itchy Spots Around Incision. Dermabond Was Used. Related?
OK I HAD MEDTRONICS INTERSTIM IMPLANT ON APRIL 1 & AM EXPERIENCING RED ITCHY SPOTS AROUND INCISION & PUNCTURE SITES FOR LEAD WIRE & BATTERY...DERMABOND WAS USED PLUS SUTURES...I KNOW I AM ALLERGIC TO NICKEL BUT DR SAYS IT IS ALL ENCLOSED & THIS IS FROM SUTURE HEALING..I AM WONDERING NOW IF IT'S FROM DERMABOND AS I AM RESEARCHING...WHAT DO YOU THINK? THANKS SUSAN
Hello, Thanks for the query. Allergic reaction can be caused by almost anything. A substance causing reaction in one patient may not cause any reaction in others. If you are suspecting dermabond it may be the causative agent. Keep applying some mild steroid cream, This will provide you some relief.
