Had IVF, Embryos Transfer, High HCG Levels. Should I Stop Estrogen And Progesterone Supplementary?
Hello,
I had my first IVF recently. 2 embryos transferred at 5 days past egg retrieval. On 9th day past embryo transfer, my hcg was 9. At 12th day past embryo transfer my hcg was 29. I have to do another beta at 15 days past ET. If hcg continues to double and yet the hcg numbers remain small, what should I expect next? Will my doctor consider that as a non-viable pregnancy and ask me to stop estrogen and progesterone supplementary and let the AF arrive? Or will he continue monitoring until the ultrasound confirms positive/negative in a couple weeks?

HCG should double every 48hrs if there is viable pregnancy.
Whatever may be the outcome, USG is done 2 weeks after embryo transfer for confirmation. You have to continue hormonal supplements till then.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
HCG doubles its level every week if you are pregnant(conceived). If HCG levels reduce or remains same then you need to examined using USG(trans vaginal preferred) to check for viability and if it increase it suggest you are pregnant and viable. But consult your doctor for the supplement given, whether only progesterone or with estrogen as estrogen need to be stopped after fertilization. Consult your doctor for examination and management.

Dr has prepared your uterus for acceptance by hormone suppliments. THe HCG is assesed to know about the IVF result. Pl. do not worry/ think about the levels. It's your treating Drs lookout to have further plans.
YOU are expected to be tension free(physically &psychologically) Be positive& happy.Do meditation .
Strictly follow the insructions by the Dr.
