Hello! The commonest ovarian cysts at such a young age are benign in nature.Symptoms due to ovarian cysts could vary from dull aching to sharp pain, heaviness in the lower abdomen, menstrual irregularities, pain during intercourse and these symptoms are important in guiding management. There are additional features on ultrasound which would help in characterising the nature of the cyst like septations and vascularity. It is also advisable to get a blood test(CA 125) done.If you are asymptomatic and the CA 125 is normal, serial vaginal ultrasound monitoring is all that is needed as most cysts resolve spontaneously. The raised WBC and collection that you mentioned immediately after caesarian section probably might have been due to an pelvic infection. It is important to confirm that the ultrasound shows ovarian cysts and not collection in your fallopian tubes or any walled off collection just outside the tubes.
