HIV Patient. Have White Circles And Wiggles On Tongue. Took Diflucan, Terbinafine
I am an HIV patient of 23 years and lately I have been battling what I thought was thrush. It looks like white circles and wiggles on the outer part of my tongue and the center looks like it is white and bumpy like a head of cauliflower. Been through a month of Diflucan then got my doctor to give me Terbinafine and that did not help. In the morning it is bad and then lessens during the day. It started after I made homemade sauerkraut and kimchi for probiotics. Any ideas?
You had not mentioned your CD4 count and whether you are on ART or not? These have some relevance foe your present problem. If it is due to oral thrush it would have gone by this time with a month of Diflucan tablets. So it is not an yeast infection. It could be a hairy leucoplakia if it is present especially on the sides of the tongue. Then it could be a geographical tongue or white coating those can occur with anybody who has no illness which can be ignored. If you meet a Dermatologist, they may likely to help you in this regards.
