Groin hernia on both sides. Had bump on the groin post an accident. Could this be the cause?

I have a groin hernia on both sides right side much larger..... I have seen a surgeon and was told I need to have this taken care of right away. I noticed the lump on my right soon after I was rear ended in an auto accident...could this have been the cause? I was wearing my seatbelt at the time...the impact was about 45-50mph.

Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, looking to the history given here I could say that if this is the pure hernia then severity of this would be main concern if this is symptomatic then in my opinion this need to be operated as soon as this is possible, hope this information helps you, have a nice day.
