Got Scratched By Stray Puppy With Tooth, No Bleeding. Washed With Dettol. Need Anti- Rabies Injection?
Hi, I am recently fostering a 2 months old puppy, he is a stray puppy who had met with an accident recently. Due to him being underage his vaccinations have not been started. Yesterday I got scratched by his sharp tooth but no bleeding , I washed it with dettol liquid soap and dettol and today even the wound is not visible. Do I need to get anti- rabies shot or wht should i do?
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
I advise you to take antirabies vaccination as per the schedule on 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28 days and start taking vaccine as early as possible as the puppy is a stray one and it is not vaccinated.
And observe the puppy for 10 days from the bite and if the puppy is healthy and no abnormal after 10 days, you can stop the remaining doses of vaccine after the advise of your doctor.
So consult your doctor and take appropriate advise.
Hope I have answered your query.
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Rabies is a fatal disease.
Your dog is stray dog and is not vaccinated.
I suggest you to take anti rabies vaccination as per schedule that is day 0.3.7.14.28.
Take first dose as early as possible.
Get your dog vaccinated and observe for 10 days.
Consult your doctor for vaccination.
