Got Diabetes, Chronic Renal Failure. Have Discoloration On Mid Lip, Pain When Touched, Puffed. Right Medication?

HI

My mother, 78 y/o, diabeteic and with chronic renal failure has a purplish-redish black discoloration on her mid lip and extends at the back. it is somewhat puffed that looks like it's filled with a very little fluid inside with a very, very slight pain when touched and she has this for 2 days already; no trauma happened. Thanks

Hi and thanks for the query,
The fact that there is pain and fluid collection deserves a careful evaluation. It possible that this could be a simple irritation, a viral infection or a bacterial infection. It is a priority that a proper diagnosis be made for an early intervention. Skin or superficial skin lesions when seen physically or through pictures. I would propose you take her to her primary care physician for review. Thanks and kind regards
