Hi my father recently got 2 stents due to high cholestrol, and was woundering if there is any great risk factors ? he is 52 years old.

Hi.. Stents are good in opening the blocks in the coronary blood vessels. Its effects are only on the present block.. But if the risk factors that has cause the present blocks continues, he can have further blocks and he may still develop the complications.. Hence it is recommended that he also takes care of those risk factors too.. Risk facts include over weight, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, smoking, alcohol and so on...
