Giving calcium stool softener. Had prolia injection, osteoporosis, kyphosis. What is the required calcium level for this patient?

My mom is at a nursing home where they are giving her calcium stool softener. ID on pill is CG 421, it is round and white. Is this enough calcium for someone who has had prolia injection d/t severe osteoporosis and kyphosis. As a nurse it is my understanding thatnatnleast 1200 mg of calcium should be taken daily to prevent low blood calcium.

Hi, i know that you will be anxious about your mother, but allow the doctors to do their work, they are giving a stool softener with calcium, they will be supplimenting calcium in different form.
So dont worry about your mother, she will be fine. Give her calcium rich foods like banana, other fruits, green leafyvegetables, fish etc.
Thank you.

To my surprise, a couple of months ago I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis so my Dr suggested that I go onto Prolia which I had injected into my stomach. So far I don t think I have had any side effects, but I am wondering does this drug prevent the Osteoporosis becoming worst or what? I have always done a lot of exercise and eat healthy food, take calcium supplements including vitamin D. I am 70. What s your opinion on Prolia?

I am 54 and I ve had a bone density test about 2 years ago. Based on the results my gynecologist thinks I have osteoporosis. I ve been takng Calcium and Vitamin D supplements since then. Yet my blood test results indicated normal levels of Vitamin D and Calcium. Does Is that indicate I may not necessarily have osteoporosis? She also recommended I see a rhumatologist. What would he do other than suggest continue with the Vitamins. Are there are other tests?
