Getting Spotting Instead Of Periods. Why?

Hello im 22 years old, im wondering wats going on with my system i just got my period like 2 wks ago n it was a strange period 1st just lil dots for like 4days n then got a small flow for like 7 days .. And know im like stainig real light not alot, so i would really like to know a little tip i wonder if its normal i mean it never happened its the 1st time so im kind of worried? .. Thank u for your time..

Dear Alyd19,
There are many factors which may affect you menstrual flow, stresses and psychological factors are very important.
Since this is the first time and you usually have normal and regular periods, you need not to worry at all and just wait for the other period to come.
If the condition recurs may be we should have some laboratory investigations:
FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin and qualitative hcg.
These tests should be done the second or third day after onset of menstrual blood flow.
At the end I reassure you that there is nothing to worry about and that menstrual irregularities are common at your age.
