Gash On Forehead After Car Accident. Cut Through Nerve. Very Painful. Nerve Healing?

After a car accident I suffered a six inch gash on my forehead above my right eyebrow to the top of my hair line. This happened three weeks ago but as yet I can t feel anything on the right side of my head and under my right eye. The doctor told me I cut through a nerve. But I seem to be getting sharp pains in that side of my face. Is the nerve healing? Or what is this pain??
