Front Of Neck Feels Tight On Left And Headaches. Could Some Muscle Be Strained ?
hi there my front of neck feels tight on left and right side and under jaw combined with headache shortly after i lift any weights even if very light weight. also if i sleep and lie with head down or to left or right I get same symptoms. I know I strained myself lifting heavy weights a couple months ago . could i have strained my neck muscles? how long till it heals?

Thanks for writing to us.
. The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain.
To get relief from the pain and for quick healing:
1. Do hot fomatation at the site.
2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day.
3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation.
4. Do not lift weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time for the injury to heal.

It is better to be examined by an orthopaedician. Muscle strain is a presumption. There may a different issues - nerves, bones like problems of the cervical spine
