Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Frequent cold and cough, without any signs of infection usually does'nt require frequent use of antibiotics.

If there is presence of any bacterial infection like tonsillitis, pharyngitis, or sinusitis, antibiotics are required.

In just cold and cough , symptomati treatment with an oral antihistamine and cough syrups are enough.
Frequent upper respiratory tract infections are common in children and mostly they are due to viruse, where antibiotic are not required and this is not suggestive of low immunity.

But any underlying allergic problems to be ruled out with proper investigations like CBP, eosinophil count, Chest X-ray and X- ray of sinuses.

For immunity :

1.Give balanced and nutritous diet.

2.Give fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, and leafy vegetables daily.

3.Routine vaccinations to be taken as per the schedule.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
