Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having constant nausea for a couple years now but it was never anything I really considered going to the doctor for but lately it has gotten a lot worse and the nausea is every day and more frequently through out the day. I am a 19 year old female not on any medications and the possibility of pregnancy has been ruled out. I dont know of any disorders that run in my family. So what could be causing it?
Hello
Most common causes for persistent nausea for many months or years may be due to
Severe anxiety
Gadtroeosophageal reflux
Excessive alcoholism
Excessive smoking
Some chronic ear infections can cause it
You must consult a doctor for thorough history, examination and investigations for proper diagnosis of cause and ultimately a proper treatment.
Thanks
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Persistent feeling of nausea for many years is likely to be related to gastric acidity problems like gastritis. Nausea is usually associated with this. You can take over the counter gastric emptying agents like Domperidone along with antacids for symptomatic relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
