Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

From the description of your symptoms, I feel that the cast has been applied too tightly which has resulted in sluggish circulation (vascular compromise) leading to blister formation.

I suggest you to immediately loosen the cast to allow adequate blood supply distally.

You should run to the emergency department if you experience the following signs and symptoms -
* severe pain in the fingers
* change in color of the fingers
* tingling or numbness in fingers
* inability to move fingers

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
