Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I am sorry to hear that the wrist fracture has caused you a major hindrance to your training and competitions. Now, the time taken for you to recover will depend on the nature and severity of the fracture, for example, whether you have had a simple or a compound fracture
, single or both bones fracture, etc. You may be asked to keep the cast for a minimum period of 4 to 6 weeks depending on the nature of the injury
I would suggest that you give as much rest as possible to the affected wrist because inadequate rest and immobiliztion can result in poor healing and can cause further complications like mal-union, etc. Though I do understand how important the competitive races are to you and it is very unfortunate that you have had this wrist fracture, yet you have to understand that only if you give proper and adequate rest, will the fracture heal quickly. Even after the cast is removed, you will have to bear weight on the affected hand only gradually.
Wish you all the best.
