HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I can understand this if the surgery of your mother's leg failed twice then you have to discuss this with the surgeon you have to ask the reason for this instead of looking for another option, may be the diseased leg it would not be working well after the surgery or what is wrong with this, this question should be asked to surgeon hope this information helps you have good day.
I find this answer helpful
