Foul-smelling Vaginal Discharge. Taken Doxycycline And Flagyl. Advice?

hi, i am 20 yrs old. i have been having these smelly discharge from my vagina from time to time. it started like 3 years ago, and i was a virgin then, so it was probably not an STI. it kept coming and going, now, it happens more often, and for several days. i have tried several medication (prescribed by doctors of course) including a single dose, for fungal infection, some antibiotics (doxycycline +flagyl). i only realize absence of the discharge for like a week, then its back again. please advice.

Hi,
Your symptoms indicate recurrent vaginitis. Your partner also needs to be treated. Please get a vaginal and a pap smear and also get tested for STDs. Though it is unlikely to be one of those serious STDs, it is essential to get them excluded in view of the prolonged history. You may need to continue treatment for at least a couple of months along with your partner for complete relief. Practice safe sex using condoms to avoid further infection. Please avoid intercourse during periods and maintain genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
