How Long Does It Take To Recover From Vertigo?

For over a year I have been suffering from sudden onset episodes of vertigo ( I feel like I’m swaying, on a boat in the river and sometimes in the ocean during a storm) heart pounding so hard, anxiety and shallow breathing. The episode lasts for 3 days leaving me tired and fatigued. I don’t know if this is part of it, but during the episode I have stabbing pains in my knee and shin and my joints ache. I have vertigo almost constantly but not as severe as during an episode.
