hello doctor i am 21 year old boy.i reached at 12 in the night..then had sleep on 2 o clock night..then have to wake up early at 6 clock..when i came from the bathroom and fallen down.. Then again when i gone to take my brush then i was shiwering..my full body was shaking..i was out of the world..i did not knew that i am shaking like this.. then i have done doctor........ after doing various tastes..doctor told that its a case of epilepsy..doctor gave me Levipil 500mg..and told to take on morning and night..plz reply 4 how many years i have to take this medicine..?? ?? and there is no side effect 4 this na

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Epilepsy is a non-curable disease, however, it can be well controlled with medications.

Levipil (levetiracetam) is a good and effective medication for treating epilepsy. It has to be used for at least three seizure-free years. If you do not get a seizure during this period, then, the medicine dose would be reduced and stopped.

Levipil is safe and we dot expect any serious side effects.
