Flap In Nostril, Difficulty Breathing. Worsening With Age. Treatment?

It feels as if there is a flap in my left nostril . When I blow my nose it feels like it would come out but it seems to be attached inside my nose. I blocks my left nostril when breathing and if I have a cold or alergy then the only way to breath is through my mouth. I have had this problem for years but it has become worse as I have gotten older. I will be 70 next birthday.

Hi there,
If i was your doctor i would have advised u to get your X ray nose and X ray PNS done. Only after seeing the X rays i can tell for sure what the flap is. Sometimes after chronic nose infections the soft tissue inside the nose swells up. It can be cured by various nasal sprays but sometimes a surgical procedure is required to remove that flap specially when it is interfering with the breathing.
Regards,
Dr. Ammar.
