Fistulotomy healed externally all the way. Inside is still healing

Fistulotomy healed externally all the way. Inside is still healing a little as seen when I spread in the mirror. Small crevasse line with mostly bright red. However, where crypt starts, tissue looks more whitish. Not having pain or swelling. No hard lumps. The smallest amount of discharge (two small dots on tissue only if stuck up there to check). I'm 12 weeks post op. Is whitish tissue internally scar tissue or infection? External scar is a little hard but I do not suspect a track underneath. Thanks

Hello, I have crohn s disease and hidradenitis of the anus along with a fistula. A month from today I had a partial fistulotomy with an excision of the infected skin due to the hidradenitis and a Seton drain. I am still having yellowish moderate discharge daily with speckles of blood from time to time. I am now re-introduced with pain and swelling. I went to my surgeon yesterday and he said everything was fine and it s healing from the inside out. When will the pain and discomfort go away and is this normal? I ve had the fistula for eight years and this is my second Seton placement. Just really worried that the constant drainage and pain this far out is a sign that everything is not ok and from past experiences that the drainage will infect my fistula and the pain/swelling is a sign that something is wrong? Please let me know your opinion/thoughts/ or helpful information on the subject.

Hi I had a fistulotomy two weeks ago. I was getting better but Friday I had sudden worse pain and all weekend I have had low grade fever and fatigue, plus pain in my wound and left buttock. I saw my doctor Friday and he put me on an antibiotic. The pain is better but not gone. I d say it s still pretty intense. Plus I m still tired constantly, and I m concerned. He says the wound looks ok but the discharge is thhicker than it should be. Is this something that takes a while to heal? I have missed two weeks of my job and am hesitant to miss more.

This is an embarrassing topic. I have fairly moderate crohn s disease with complications. I developed a severe fistula in ano with the sphincter muscles fully penetrated by the tract. In April 2013 I had a bio-plug procedure done which failed. In July 2013 I had an anal fisulotmy via cutting seton which dissected the tract about 80% thru. In October I had a traditional anal fisulotomy to finish the dissection of the tract. Its been 4 months and the area is healing well. While I doubt it will ever get back to normal it is still improving. My question is of a delicate nature. Is there any guidelines regarding anal fistulotomy patients and ano receptive sex. I find it uncomfortable to discuss face to face with my surgeon. Is it something that will eventually be ok. Or does this condition ruin that aspect of an adventurous sex life for good.
