First Two Days Baby Was Fed By Lactodex IBW. Later Breast Feeding Was Started. Safe To Switch To Lactogen-1?
Hello, I have a baby boy who was born after 35 weeks of my pregnancy. Initially for 2-4 days we feeded him by lactodex-lbw. But after that breastfeeding was started. Again after 29 days breastfeeding is not sufficient for my baby. Now his weight is 2.5 kg. Can u please guide me that whether i should switch to lactogen-1 now or not. i feed him lactodex only 2-3 times a day, rest he is breastfeeded.
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
A baby should be exclusively breast fed till 6 months of age. Breast feeding is important as this contains the right things required for the baby in right proportions at the right time. It is ideal for brain growth. Breast milk prevents various infections like loose motions, respiratory infections, etc.
So give exclusive breast feeding for your baby till 6 months and continue to breast feed your baby till 2 years of age.
Keep your mind away from worries. Breast feeding will be sufficient.
