Fingers swollen, bruised, painful. Waiting for blood test results. Cause of symptoms?

Hello Doctor, This question is about my sister who has had the fingers of her both hands swollen and bruised for a few days now and when she wants to use her fingers they are painful. She has gone for a blood test a couple of days ago and she has not got the results yet. We are worried for her and I would like to know what could be the cause of her symptoms please? Thanks

Thank you for getting in touch with us. As I see, your sister is having pain and swelling in fingers of her hands. There can be many causes of this. In women, autoimmune diseases are a common cause of such signs and symptoms. We would recommend you to wait for the results and then start with treatment. Please get back to us when you receive your results. We would be happy to guide you. Hope this helps
