Fingering, Vaginal Spotting, Bleeding Heavily At Times. Cause Of Worry?
OK, so i need some help/advice my boyfriend and i don t have sex but he does finger me and i occasionally bleed. Sometimes the bleeding is heavier than other times but usually it s just spotting. And sometimes the bleeding will last a few hours to a whole day. Is this normal? Should i be worried? Also i have never had a pap smear done.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Fingering done for the first time will cause bleeding due to rupture of the hymen.
Bleeding subsequently can be due to trauma caused by the finger or nail.
Bleeding each time after sexual contact needs to be investigated.
Bleeding after sex is called post-coital bleeding.
This can occur due to cervical erosions, cervical infection/ inflammation, or even cervical pre-malignant and malignant conditions.
Endometrial causes like endometrial polyps, growths, etc can also case this bleeding.
It is advisable to go for Pap smear to detect any abnormality if present in the cervix.
Consult your gynecologist for clinical examination, relevant investigations (including Pap) and thus management.
