Fever Like Symptoms And Sore Throat. On Medication For Hypothyroidism, IUD And Anxiety. Suggest
My wife is experiencing fever like symptoms and a sore throat periodically through out the day. She is currently on medication for hypothyroidism and has had an IUD the last 18 months. She is 36 years old. she also takes 100mg zoloft at night for anxieties she has at work. Her current Dr says she is a medical mystery.
Hello, Her current problems of fever or flu like symptoms coupled with sore throat present for past 24 hours suggest a viral infection of throat. She would require paracetamol for her fever and this should be given as one tablet on SOS basis, whenever required. She may take 4 to 6 tablets a day. For pain in throat, she may do warm saline gargles.Avoid cold drinks for few days Hopefully she should be all right in next 3 to 5 days. Any increase in her problems would require a consultation with her doctor. She is advised to continue her regular medications. Thanks
