Fever, Fatty Liver. Ultrasound Done. What Are The Findings From The Report?

Hello Dr. My name is Sanjeev, age-33yr,weight 68kg, Since from last 3 day I m suffering from fever which varies from 100-103 and my liver is fatty as per ultrasound and results of other tests as under -Bilirubin(T) on 08-08-2013 was 4.4 mg , on 19.08.2013 it was 1.6mg/dl ,on 28.09.2013 it was 2.2mg and on 03.10.2013 -1.6 mg Bilirubin(T),Bilibrubin Direct-0.8mg,B-Indrect 0.8mg,SGOT-98.4 U/L, SGPT-103.6 U/L and AIK-Phosphate 14KA units. Dr. has prescribed me following medicines-Malidens 500mg,Domstal,Monocef-o 200 and Liv.52syrup prescription was given on 03-04-2013 and I m following it and improved in health a little bit but still there is redness in my eyes. Whether the treatment being given to me is proper or not ? One thing is more that on 28-09-2013 there was some stains of blood with my semen but there is no infirmity in other tests.

Hello Sanjeev,

You have abnormal liver function tests as well as USG fatty liver.
Bilirubin is significantly raised, including liver enzymes.

I would recommend that you have liver specific autoantibodies tested as well, to exclude an autoimmune cause provided viral hepatitides have been shown to be negative (normal).
Monocef-O is not required unless the cause is suspected typhoid fever.
Infections need to be excluded FIRST - the redness of the eyes may be related if autoantibodies are positive.
