Ferritin level is 2.38. Had iron infusions. Level is still dropping. Have pain in bones. Cause?

My ferritin levels, as of January 25, are 2.38. I have had 2 iron infusions but the numbers continue to drop at alarming rates. My joints have bothered me for a while but now my bones will not stop aching/hurting. I am currently under the care of a hematologist . What is causing my levels to drop and this pain I am experiencing in my bones?
