Felling senseless on arm when wake up

I occasionally have instances where I wake up with one or both arms completely asleep and useless, like wet two pieces of dead fish. Why is that? I am 36, 170 pounds, fairly fit and muscular and have no outstanding diseases or symptomatic conditions of the physical or neurological type.
