Fell, Smacked Knee, Swelling, Pain. What Should Be Done?

I fell and smacked my knee on a curb corner with a metal rim on it and though i can walk with little pain and go up and down the stairs i cannot kneel down AT ALL. I tried today (3 days post injury) and fell on my face. Only had swelling the first day and no color of bruising . It throbs most at night and i cant stant to touch it. Wondering if it is just a bad bruis or a fracture . Er waits are crazy here and i dont want to wait ten plus hours for a bruise . What do you think?

Hi,
It seems that you might be having patellar injury with some tissue damage.
Give rest to the part.
Avoid climbing staircase for few days.
Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day.
Take some anti-inflammatory medicine.
Ok and take care.
