Hi my husband fell about a week ago off a ladder. Hurt his right leg, scrapped his shin, sore but could put weight on it so figured no fractures. Now 1 week later the calf, ankle and foot are pretty swollen, painful, a bit red around the scrap but nothing to serious. Swelling seems to be getting worse rather than better and it is more sore as he walks on it. He is diabetic and has some back issues and a bit overweight, also a few years ago he contracted MRSA in his lungs but after treatment has had no other problems. My question is whether he should make an appointment with his primary Dr to rule out fracture, blood clot or something else or if it is something he needs to be seen at the ER before hand, he doesn't seem to be running a temp but has had bouts of being hot and cold like he is running a temp.
