Feels Like Food Stuck At The Throat. Diagnosed Tonsillitis, But No White Spots. Is It Tonsillitis

hi, I felt like I had food stuck at the back of my mouth, but then realised my tonsil was actually sticking out and just getting in the way when I swallowed. I went to the doctors and they said it was tonsillitis but they don t have any white spots. It looks more like there s just a little tonsil coloured bump on one of them which is quite hard. Could this still be tonsillitis?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello.you dont have to have white spots to call it tonsillitis. enlarged tonsils causing the sticky feeling will probably be infected, and your doctor is correct. please gargle with warm salt water and avoid spicy food. also ask your doctor whether you have to be started on any antibiotics. thanks
